There is a great selection of restaurants in Puerto Escondido. Fresh seafood is a specialty. Here is just a short list of some of the places that will whet your appetite!


Alicia's Good, inexpensive meals.

Art 'n' Harry's is a surfer's hangout on the south end of Playa Zicatela. Seafood and more.

Bananas Avenida Gasca. Seafood, hamburgers..

Hermann's Best East of the Pedestrian Zone next to Mario's Pizzaland. Seafood.

Cafecito is a fun place for the younger minded crowd where you will find great coffee, food and company. Located on Zicatela.

Sardina de Plata is located at the western end of the pedestrian mall. Popular with tourists but not with the locals. Seafood.

La Torre A wonderful, quiet place in the Baccocho area. Food and service is always terrifico!

Hotel Flor de Maria. Pasta, seafood.

Mario's Pizzaland Avenida Gasga, east of the pedestrian area.

Nautilus On Perez Gasga. Very upscale.

La Gota de Vida on Zicatela. Vegetarian dishes, soups, licuados - Inexpensive.

La Posada is located on Avenida Gasga. The grill is out in front where you pick out the lobster or steak you want and give it to the chef to prepare. There is a dining room and tables on the beach. Closed for lunch.

La Perla Flameante is on Avenida Gasga on the pedestrian mall. Closed for lunch.

For vegetarian food, try Restaurant Santa Fe located in the Hotel Santa Fe on Calle Del Morro at the south end of Playa Marinero. Salads, baked fish, baked tofu, avocado soup.

Taqueria La Playita is near the corner Av. Oaxaca and 2nd, across from the newsstand. Best taco el pastor anywhere!
